Today, Andy and Monica live on a small farm south of Columbia, Tennessee, where they raise their three children: Adley, Drew, and Isaac. Life on the farm reflects their commitment to simplicity, hard work, and family bonds.
Academic and Professional Beginnings
Andy pursued higher education at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), where he earned his degree. After graduation, he embarked on a successful entrepreneurial journey, owning and operating restaurants and managing a real estate investment business. These ventures not only showcased his business acumen but also instilled in him a deep understanding of the challenges faced by small business owners.
A Call to Serve: Fighting Human Trafficking
Feeling a strong desire to make a meaningful impact, Andy joined Abolition International as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, he managed operations and investments across several countries, focusing on combating human trafficking. This critical work demonstrated Andy’s dedication to addressing global issues and protecting vulnerable communities.
Policy Advocacy and Economic Leadership
Andy’s passion for serving others extended to policy advocacy. In 2013, he joined Americans for Prosperity (AFP), where he worked on economic, tax, and healthcare policies. His contributions included authoring and co-authoring publications that examined the effects of Obamacare and tax policies on Tennessee’s residents. This role allowed him to champion policies that supported economic growth and reduced burdens on hardworking families.
Following his time at AFP, Andy became the Executive Director of the Laffer Center for Supply-Side Economics.
